Well, here it is, my friends.
It all comes down to this: in the most important election in my lifetime (6+ decades), we have a clear, stark, undeniable choice.
One candidate for President of the United States of America would march us forcibly into Big Brother socialism, while the other would at least maintain a semblance of our traditional republic.
One candidate would penalize the engine and very heart of our economy, those entrepreneurs and corporate leaders who create jobs and wealth, by creating law to steal their money and give it to artificially protected classes. The other candidate understands that capitalism, especially as it’s practiced in America, is the only economic system that takes human nature into account.
One candidate would grovel before Islam, begging for a hug, while the other candidate clearly understands that someone who says he will fight on until he cuts your head off or makes you a slave most likely means what he says.
One candidate would eliminate the definition of sovereignty in this nation by opening our borders for free and unfettered entrance to every uneducated, disease-ridden, violence-prone welfare aspirant who sees a chance to leach off America’s prosperity. The other says he has now seen the light.
One candidate would nominate and secure appointment for Supreme Court judges who will make a mockery of the Constitution that governs our nation. The other has pledged to nominate judges who cherish the wisdom and clear thinking of our Founding Fathers.
One candidate equates God-given human life as the equivalent of a cancerous growth: of no value, in the way, and imminently disposable. The other has consistently espoused respect for the sanctity and undeniable right to birth of the life created by God Almighty in His image and likeness.
One candidate would create a vast, bloated, ludicrously inefficient health care bureaucracy in the image of the failed European and Canadian cesspools. The other seems to recognize that only a free market makes sense.
And now we have a choice. Do we pout and sit home whining that our guy didn’t secure the Republican nomination? Or do we recognize the danger, the looming disaster, of either Democrat winning this election?
I know what I’m going to do. I don’t particularly like John McCain, and some of what he has done in the past leaves me cold. But I’m going to knock on every door I can, make every phone call I can, and contribute every dime I can to the cause of getting this man into the White House. The alternative is simply too scary. I don’t think I could live with the knowledge that by being petulant or lazy I handed my grandchildren’s future to those who would drag my beloved country into a Soviet or Chinese-style miasma of failure and despair.
And I’m going to get on my knees and pray.
